The kit from the American company DUMAS Aircraft is an ideal machine for model builders who already have at least basic experience in building small rubber bundle-powered models or gliders and in controlling RC models with controllable rudder and elevator. They improve on the building of the "slat" construction of the fuselage and wings, in the paper covering and painting - thanks to the highly prefabricated laser-cut parts it goes like clockwork.
The RC semiscale construction kit of the Swiss light transport high-wing aircraft is designed to be powered by an electric motor. The model has a simple classic all-balsa construction with laser-cut wooden parts, thermoformed plastic scale accessories, injected plastic parts and metal parts. The hull is constructed with the usual mini-scale technology from the balsa beam sidewalls that you connect to semi-bulkheads and bulkheads in the trellis frames. The resulting shapes are obtained after gluing a larger number of additional side rails. The wing has a classic construction of spars and ribs, the tail panels are made of balsa strips and laser-cut parts. You can cover the entire model with the paper supplied in the kit or with a suitable light iron-on film with small shrinkage such as Airspan or Litespan.
Pilatus Turbo Porter is designed to be driven by a small geared DC motor - e.g. with the GWS drive unit shown on the plan. At the moment you're probably going for a small brushless motor - in which case you'll need to redesign the motor mount (add a new 2mm birch ply motor bulkhead) but that shouldn't be a big problem. The class AXI 2208 electric motor and a Li-Poly 2-cell pack 800 mAh are enough for relaxed flying. We recommend selecting a suitable motor for a park flyer.
The kit includes: laser-cut balsa parts, balsa strips, thermoformed parts (engine cover...), clear plastic film for the cabin, a steel wire for the landing gear and other small parts, light foam wheels, colored covering paper, stickers, a construction plan.
