TAMIYA has been known for over 3 decades for building models of the most beautiful, fastest and most popular cars. The legendary TAMIYA Sand Scorcher on a scale of 1:10 was dedicated to the Volkswagen Beetle 30 years ago. In 2009, for the 30th anniversary, a Tamiya fan turned the tables and recreated the Sand Scorcher on a 1: 1 scale. This unusual "replica" was exhibited at the 2010 Toy Fair.
The anniversary model from TAMIYA is offered as a kit, as it was 30 years ago. The technical basis corresponds to the original model, but there have been some innovations for the Sand Scorcher 2010, such as: B. new wishbones, wheel carriers and a modern electronic cruise control. Other components have been reinforced to ensure that the 40 cm long model is contemporary in stability. The standard equipment includes a robust fiberglass chassis plate, an extensive set of ball bearings, a robust electric motor and oil pressure shock absorber. When it comes to the design of the plastic body, everything stays the same, which is sure to please not only nostalgics.
